You will need:
- Watercolour pad (A4 is ideal)
- Watercolour paints
- Palette on which to mix colours
- Water container
- Some watercolour brushes
Watercolour pads come in different sizes as you would expect. The paper can also vary by weight and the amount of texture on the surface.
I recommend that you start with a less textured 300gsm paper. At the art shop they have two suitable types of pad:
1. Daler Rowney - Cotman 300gsm - around 300,000vnd
2. Daler Rowney - New Grain 300gsm - around 220,000vnd
They are both ideal for your first exercises in colour.

Watercolour paints
1. Winsor and Newton or Daler Rowney pans (little blocks) of dried paint. A pocket set with 12 colours will cost around 450,000vnd. ( I do have some in stock)
Children's paints, Chinese or Korean Watercolours are lovely but they are distinctly different. The colours do not align to European colours and would not be suitable for our sessions.
Brushes
you will need two brushes; a wide one for creating broad washes and a small one for all other work. A starter set of brushes will cost about 120,000vnd

You total start-up kit should cost about 900,000,000vnd. Supplies can be purchased from these two shops. You can Google them to get maps - they are about 500mtrs apart in BenThanh District.
